A General Update

Hello dear readers. Today I will diverge from the normal blog post and instead just talk about some new things that I am adding into my life with the goal of being better. Of course, most of these I have already talked about in previous posts so for those dedicated readers of mine, this list won’t be the most surprising. Regardless, I am writing this list with the hopes that you all choose to add at least one new routine with health in mind to your life.

  1. Reading for at least thirty minutes a day.

There are way too many benefits to reading for us to loose the habit of sitting down and just enjoying a good book. I have talked about this several times on this blog but ultimately have fallen off from this habit as just life *vague gestures with hands* BUT I have jumped back on the metaphoric bicycle with Murakami’s Kafka on the Shore.

2. Walking and adding push ups at least four times a week.

For those that remember my swimming days, they were fantastic. I was great shape and plan to return when COVID numbers go down significantly. Until then, I plan on keeping healthy with simple walking and push ups. Remember, working out doesn’t always have to be intense. What matters is building the habit of going to the gym/working out and build towards a healthier you.

3. Avoiding unhealthy snacks

This one speaks for itself in my opinion but is important none the less.

4. Limiting my coffee intake to two cups a day.

I love my coffee like so many others. The taste, the energy, the general mood that accompanies that warm comfortable cup. Of course, too much of anything isn’t good for you. With some research, I have found that too much coffee unfortunately is not the exception to the previous saying. That being said, gone are the days of my four to five cups of coffee. Bring on the green tea!

I hope that this list has inspired you to pick up a new thing to add to your life. Remember, it is always important to be looking for ways to better our lives and to hopefully build habits around the healthy activities leading to a happier life. Be sure to follow my blog’s Instagram where I aim to update you all with my progress on all of these!
