Fall

The colors have changed, the weather has finally turned colder, and the start of the season is official. Fall has always been my favorite season mainly due to the relaxing atmosphere. The colors, the flannels, the bonfires all soothe my soul and give me the vacation I need. Fall also is a time for me to reflect before the cold winter sets in and the new year dawns.

Reflecting and taking a personal inventory is never a enjoyable thing. Taking note on what’s going on in your life always leads to the confrontation of what has been ignored, what was promised and lost, and other things that have fallen to the wayside. This is a huge problem of mine (as some of you might have caught onto by now). I struggle immensely with just sticking with something for long periods of time. Working out, this blog, other writing projects, they all can just fall to the side when the list of distractions grows and becomes easier and easier.

These distractions are wonderful and give us the simple satisfaction but ultimately, they aren’t fully rewarding to the soul. Staying on top of healthy habits is damn near impossible. But, if we keep just tackling it time and time again, eventually it will get done. Eventually our personal inventories will become very positive when looking at what was once a distant dream and now a completed task. Sure there might be several breaks in between, but the task will get closer to being done each time. We just need to make sure and not fall.
